Proactive Behaviour Support
Developing Positive Behaviour Support plans.
Proactive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an independent, Adelaide-based, NDIS-registered provider supporting children and adults to live safer, more fulfilling lives—without trying to change who they are.
We provide Positive Behaviour Support that is grounded in respect, collaboration, and human rights. We understand that all behaviour is meaningful and is often a person’s way of communicating their needs, preferences, stress, sensory experiences, or unmet supports.
Our work begins with listening. Through observations, conversations, and careful information gathering, we seek to understand what the behaviour is communicating and how the person’s environment and supports can better meet their needs.
Using this understanding, we work alongside the person and the people who support them to:
- Make practical, respectful changes to environments and routines
- Build skills and alternative ways to communicate needs
- Increase choice, control, and participation in everyday life
Our focus is on supporting regulation, wellbeing, and quality of life, while reducing distress and the need for restrictive practices wherever possible.
NDIS Tailored Support plans
Behaviour support
Each NDIS behaviour support plan is ‘bespoke’. It is tailored to the participant containing evidence based, person-centred strategies that are responsive to their needs. The plan includes skill development, changes to their environment and improving their quality of life to reduce the occurrence of challenging behaviours and use of Restrictive Practice.
Our team of experienced behaviour support practitioners in Adelaide are allied health practitioners, specifically trained in behaviour support who are passionate about supporting people who use behaviours that challenge.
